In celebration of Giving Tuesday, we ask you to remember and support this year’s Annual Fund for the Newport Performing Arts Center. The Annual Fund drives this ambitious community enterprise and your continuous support allows us to keep moving forward.
Through the community’s generosity we have been able to make significant progress on Phase 1 of the project. Newport’s historic Opera House, one of the oldest in the country, required significant restoration and with the help of our supporters the building has been stabilized. Now we are mobilizing our efforts so we can begin to open NPAC for performance even as restoration construction on the theater continues.
Our efforts this past year have resulted in a more pragmatic business and financial plan, a market study to validate the economic viability and market demand supporting the Newport Performing Arts Center and the addition of key advisors who bring in-depth professional expertise in entertainment and theater management.
Newport enjoys a vibrant cultural scene which enriches life in this community. As a year-round cultural institution, NPAC is an important addition to what already makes Newport special. In fact, 90% of respondents to our market study said having a theater in Newport would enrich quality of life in the community. The Opera House Theater is your stage and your support of the Annual Fund sustains this community endeavor up to and beyond its opening, and for years to come.
We are deeply grateful for your support.
With thanks and best wishes,
John H. Cratin, III Chair, NPAC Board of Directors
